Delicious Chocolate Cupcakes


  • Water boiling
  • 40g Cocoa powder
  • 3Eggs 
  • 175g Butter softened
  • 165g caster sugar 
  • 115g Self-raising white flour
  • 1tsp Baking powder


  • 60g Butter (unsalted)
  • 30g Cocoa powder
  • 3tbspMilk
  • 250g Unrefined golden icing sugar 

Method Cupcakes

  1. Line your cupcake cases/muffin cases on a baking tray and pre heat the oven at 200C
  2. Sift the Cocoa Powder in a large bowl and pour the boiling water to form a thick paste
  3. Add the remaining cake mix ingredients to the bowl and mix with an electric whisk
  4. Divide the mixture equally between the cases for 12-15 minutes

Method Icing

  1. Melt the butter and pour it in a bowl
  2. sift the cocoa powder and stir the icing sugar little at a time
  3. If its too thick add a little milk to get the right consistency
  4. Transfer over into a piping bag and and pipe over the cupcakes and decorate 🙂
